2026 Conference Highlights

• Cataract symposium with Prof Uday Devgan (the 'Cataract Coach') from Devgan Eye Surgery in California, Prof Alvin Young, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong and Dr Geraldine Comer, Health Service Executive West and North West / University Hospital Galway
• Prof Keith Barton from Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and UCL, will give the Mooney Lecture and contribute to a Glaucoma symposium alongside Dr David Gildea, Health Service Executive Dublin and South East Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital
• An Oculoplastics symposium with contributions from Mr Jimmy Udin, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, Ms Clare Quigley, Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital and St James's Hospital Dublin and Ms Elizabeth McElnea, Galway University Hospital.
• Stuart Lancaster - head coach of Connacht Rugby, will discuss building long term high performing teams and Dr Monique Hope Ross will talk to our delegates about sustaining a career in medicine over the long term.
• Dr Conor Hearty, Pain Management Specialist at The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin will present on Managing Neuropathic Pain in Ophthalmology.
• Dr Ann O'Connell, Health Service Executive South East University Hospital Waterford, will deliver the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) Lecture 2026.
